                          William C. Smith

                          Joseph Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, USA

                          William obtained his bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in psychology from Portland State University.  He received his Masters in Teaching from Western Oregon University in 2003 and a Masters in International Development for the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.  Currently he is pursuing a dual PhD in Education Theory and Policy and Comparative International Education at The Pennsylvania State University.  His research interests include the effects of education on poverty alleviation and health, macro-level national and international level policy and their implications for equality, and the gendered nature of opportunity costs.
