                          Submission guidelines and FAQ

                          Who can submit an article?
ICE Magazine would like to hear from those who are passionate about contrasting styles of global education in all their forms.  We especially welcome submissions from:

                          • Graduate students of International and Comparative Education from any of the many institutions offering such programmes around the world.
                          • Academics, researchers and policy-makers involved in global education studies.
                          • Teachers and other educational professionals working in the field.

                          What are we looking for?

                          We welcome:
                          • essays - perhaps adapted from one you've recently written
                          • opinion pieces - journalistic commentary about a current trend or topic
                          • personal reflections - tell us about your experiences
                          • reviews - books, courses, websites, films... anything!

Obviously, all contributions must be concerned with an aspect or aspects of education in an international or comparative context.
Depending on demand, some issues may be themed.  This will mean that a call for papers and submissions based around a much narrower subject matter may be required.

Is there any particular 'house style' or maximum word count?
                          • There is no specific style to conform to as yet.  Articles should be written in English (UK or US) and be of a high standard in terms of grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure etc.  If English is not your first language, and you would like to submit a piece of work, please do not be discouraged from doing so!
                          • We ask that all submissions lie roughly between 500 and 4000 words in length, but there may be circumstances when a subject necessitates more attention and a longer article is required.  Please contact us if you would like to write a longer feature piece.
                          • If your article contains quotations from other sources, please make sure that you supply references as you would in an essay (e.g. Harvard)
                          • If you have any particular illustrations or diagrams that you would like included with your work, please attach these to the same submission email, stating to which section of your article they belong.
