Jennifer Bowden joined the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth in July of 2007 from the Lewisville ISD, where she was a World Cultures teacher. She has traveled extensively, led teacher workshops, mentored student teachers, worked on a district curriculum alignment team, written several teaching articles, and directed numerous student programs impacting more than 100,000 students. In 2001, she was awarded a month long study in Japan through a Fulbright Memorial Fund Fellowship and from 2002-2004, she was an area representative for the Center for Cultural Interchange’s area exchange students. In 2002 she led a group of students overseas with People to People and in 2009 she was awarded the Outstanding Support for Geography Education Award by the National Council for Geographic Education. She received her degree cum laude from the University of North Texas after studying in Melbourne, Australia, and is currently working towards a Masters in Global Studies in Education through the University of Illinois. Along with WAC partner organizations, HEB ISD and Richland College, she led 17 DFW educators to India in 2011 as the community outreach coordinator on a Fulbright Hays GPA grant. |
